WARNING: CARE MUST BE TAKEN WHEN SOLVING MOD EQUATIONS.
There are several methods but you must know when you can use them. Hopefully these videos will show you.
Type 1 : Mod on one side of the ‘=’ and some x’s on the other side not in a mod.
Example: Solve
- |x + 1| = -2x – 5
Type 2: Mod on one side of the ‘=’ and a constant (just a number) on the other side
Example: Solve
- |x – 2| = 3
Note: There are 3 methods of solution
Type 3: Mod on both sides of the ‘=’ sign
Example: Solve
- |3x + 9|=|2x + 1|
